FIBRAN embodies the vision of its founder, Dimitris Anastasiadis, who, starting in Thessaloniki, in 1974, began the journey to create a truly global Greek industry. Since 1995, it has been a leading player in the production of insulation materials in Europe, creating solution systems for different fields of application of construction, industry & shipping, while it has expanded its activity in the construction sector by investing in the production of dry building systems.

FIBRAN is a Greek multinational company, with six (6) factories producing extruded polystyrene, stone wool, dry construction and expanded polystyrene & eight (8) subsidiaries in Europe, while its products are present in seventy (70) countries around the world. Today the group, one of the few in the world, has a total of six (6) state-of-the-art industrial production units of all categories of insulating materials (Extruded Polystyrene, Rockwool and Expanded Polystyrene) as well as Drywall.

In Greece, in the industrial facilities in Terpni, Serres, stone wool products are produced under the brand name FIBRANgeo and extruded polystyrene products under the brand name FIBRANxps. Other extruded polystyrene plants in the group are located in Portugal, Bulgaria and Slovenia.

The Laboratory “Informatics Applications in Economics” of the Department of Economics, AUTh https://infolab.econ.auth.gr/ focuses on issues of Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Decision Support Systems, Production Systems, Supply Chain Management and E-Commerce.

The director of the Laboratory is Professor Athanasios Tsadiras. The laboratory belongs at the Department of Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he has been operating since 2010 a postgraduate program entitled “Logistics and Supply Chain Management”. The laboratory has long experience and international recognition, while actively participating in research proposals and funded projects.
